This site is the game's public page. The only personal data you ever give it is an
email address you type into the sign-up form yourself, so that we can send you news about the
game. Everything else it records is listed below: ordinary server logs, and — only if you say
yes to the banner — advertising measurement.
The game itself is a separate site (https://play.silentexpanse.com): if you create an
account there, that is a different set of data, described in the game's own terms — signing
up to this mailing list neither creates an account nor requires one.
Scope. This notice covers this website only — the mailing list and nothing else. The game is open and takes accounts; what it stores is described in the game's own privacy notice. It is written separately because the two systems are deliberately kept apart: a game account stores a one-way hash of an email address rather than the address itself, and it has no access to this mailing list. The game itself carries no analytics, no trackers and no third-party scripts of any kind — whatever measurement this marketing site ever uses stops at its edge, by design and not by omission. You will never be asked to accept trackers in order to play.

What is collected, and why

That is the complete list. No name is asked for, no profile is built, and nothing you do on this site is linked to anything else. If you sign up and never confirm, the address is deleted automatically after thirty days — an unconfirmed address is not a subscriber, and keeping it would be holding your data for no reason.
Cookies
Nothing is stored in your browser unless you say yes. This site sets no cookies of its own. When an advertising campaign is running it uses Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure it — and in that case you are asked first, with a banner, before anything from Google is fetched. Declining is one click and changes nothing else: no script is loaded, no cookie is set, and the site works exactly the same.
If you accept, Google sets cookies to measure visits and ad conversions, and may use them to show you ads elsewhere; the data goes to Google as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. You can change your mind at any time — reopen the cookie choice — and clearing this site's data in your browser also clears it.
The game itself never asks. It carries no analytics and no third-party script of any kind, enforced by its content security policy rather than merely intended, so you will never meet a consent banner in order to play. Whatever measurement this public site uses stops at its edge.
The mailing list
The list is ours. It is not handed to a mailing platform: your address is stored in our own database, on our own server, and it is read by nobody but the person who runs Silent Expanse. It is never sold, rented or shared, there is no advertising in it, and it is used for Silent Expanse and nothing else.
Sign-up uses confirmed opt-in: you get one email asking you to confirm, and nothing else is sent until you click it. Until then the address is not on the list — so if somebody else typed your address, doing nothing is enough, and it disappears by itself.
Email is delivered through an ordinary mail server, which necessarily sees the address it is delivering to. That is the only third party involved, and it is handling the message, not keeping the list.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe at any time — every email carries the link, and it takes one click. That also withdraws your consent for the future.
- Ask what is held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted.
- Ask for a copy of it in a portable form, or object to how it is used.
- Complain to your national data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

One distinction worth being plain about, because the two are often confused. Unsubscribing stops the emails and keeps a note that this address asked not to be contacted — that note is what stops it being added back by a later import. Erasure deletes the row outright, consent record included; after that we hold nothing about you at all, which also means nothing stops you being contacted if you sign up again. Ask for whichever you actually want, and say which.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and the mailing list is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, write to us and the address will be removed.
Changes
Any change that affects what is collected will be reflected here before it takes effect, with the date above updated. What the GAME stores is a separate document — its own privacy notice, reachable from the sign-in page — because the two systems keep different data for different reasons.
